Notes on the Uluwatu temple
Sunset, Kecak, and the long walk back through the monkey forest.
Go for the Kecak — fifty men in white sarongs, no instruments, the longest chant you've ever heard, and the sun dropping behind the cliff at exactly the right moment.
Bring a sarong (they'll lend you one but it's better to have your own), and don't bring anything shiny — the macaques will take it. Sunglasses. Hats. Phones. They are professionals.
