Fewer people, half the price, the best light you've ever seen. Here's what to pack.
December through February is the season most travel guides tell you to avoid. They are wrong. The crowds are gone, the flights are half the price, and the light after a shower is the best you'll see in your life.
It rains, of course — usually for an hour in the afternoon, hard, then it stops. Bring a light shell and a pair of shoes that can get wet. Everything else is the same as the dry season, only better.
